From getting to know you and helping you prepare, easing your anxieties, to having the absolute best time with you on the day. Last but not least, getting to end it all with pouring our love into editing every image and seeing how much it means to you when you get your final gallery. Just knowing we’ve helped you feel seen and celebrated might just be our favourite part. There’s no stage of this process where we don’t pour our everything into it.
Every single beautiful human we’ve met on this journey and the fact that they have let us into their lives, which we never take lightly. Allowing us to laugh until our stomachs hurt with them, ugly cry during vows, celebrating big milestones and exploring so many places, and for that we’re endlessly grateful. Our lives are richer because of all the experiences we get to live while helping you document yours.
My story is much more simple. I’ve lived what I’d consider to be a simple and quiet life. I’m a guy who values my family and friends above all. I like simple pleasures like a tank full of gas, a good round of golf, and having a beer with my buds. That was until I met Maelynn. I found my first career many years ago as a garage door technician. My life really just consisted of work and hanging out with my loved ones. I wasn’t much of an adventurer, I liked what was familiar and predictable, which was the opposite of Maelynn. When we met it became very clear, very quickly, the little bubble I lived in had burst. Before I knew it we were taking all kinds of adventures, I was trying all kinds of new things, and meeting all kinds of new people. The part that surprised me the most was how much I loved it. Suddenly I was living a life I never knew I was missing. When Maelynn found out she was losing her job it really wasn’t even a question, I knew I had to take care of us. But Maelynn isn’t a girl who waits around to be taken care of. She’s a girl with big dreams and even bigger drive. So when she told me she wanted to start a photography business I was supportive but I had no idea where it would take us! While Maelynn was teaching herself everything she knows about photography and videography, she was also teaching me! Before we knew it I was joining her on this adventure full time! Documenting love is her ultimate passion, and loving her is mine. I’m just lucky I get to love what she loves and do it with her!
I was always a creative kid and when I was little I believed I wanted to grow up to be a big fashion designer! That was until I went to a beauty school to get my hair done, looked around at all these cool girls doing hair and makeup, truly expressed themselves and their creativity. I FELL IN LOVE. So I spent all of middle school and high school teaching myself how to do hair and makeup. But unfortunately I also struggled a lot with my family life and mental health in my youth. So naturally I only made it about half way through beauty school before I dropped out (queue the Grease soundtrack) and had to figure out, what the heck next? I had some short term customer service jobs before I found myself in the care industry supporting people with developmental disabilities which lead to a beautiful career as a social worker. I truly thought I would climb the social work ladder and spend my days trying to make positive change in the developmental disabilities world, but as an empath, the emotional burnout was catching up to me. It turns out the universe also had different plans for me because shortly after a rather unfortunate election, I found out my position was losing its Medicaid funding. After feeling that grief I knew I needed to figure out what was next and I knew it couldn’t be just another social work role. I think my soil was always trying to find its way back to its creative roots. Over the years I always dreamed of starting my photography business but it was just never the right time. Suddenly, it was the right time and the rest was history. I'm truly living the life I always dreamed of and my soul fire is burning strong.
